This project will create a low-cost, adaptable, intuitive, and user-friendly Augmentative and Alternative Communication (ACC) smart home device. It is designed to help individuals with autism communicate effectively with family members, visiting friends, tutors and counselors both face-to-face and online, based on home scenarios.
This device aims to provide a seamless, intuitive communication experience that is tailored to the individual needs and emotional state of the autistic user.
Design Research Kit
This Design Research Kit aims to gather comprehensive, insightful data from autistic users to design an Augmentative and Alternative Communication Device that genuinely meets their needs and comfort levels. It combines qualitative and quantitative methods, fun activities and thoughtful design.
