"FindMyDR'' is a comprehensive wayfinding project, including a mobile application and a digital signage, that is designed to help users navigate the Monash Caulfield Library and find available discussion rooms [What]. It aims to improve the user experience by providing an innovative and user-friendly solution to find their way around the library, locate available meeting rooms, and book them efficiently. By using augmented reality, the mobile application provides an engaging and interactive way to navigate the library, making it easier for users to find their destination [Why]. This project is aimed at all Monash Caulfield students requiring a space for group study, or work on a team assessment task, project, presentation or report [Who]. The service is available during library's opening hours [When].
FindMyDR is a mobile application built on AR glasses that provides a function of searching and booking available discussion rooms, and navigating the users to their destination. Augmented reality experience provides a greater spatial awareness, which can help the users understand their surroundings better and navigate more effectively. In addition, it is able to communicate with the digital signage in front of the discussion rooms - users can book the room using either the mobile app or digital signage, the information of available rooms is shared [How].
