P009 → Urchin Universe
This project is an educational augmented reality experience that provides an innovative way to engage and educate users about the biological and ecological significance of sea urchins by linking the scientific information of this marine life with its visual beauty.
This project is an educational augmented reality experience that offers an innovative way to engage and educate users about the biological and ecological significance of sea urchins and demonstrate their beauty and variety at the same time. It is important to understand their biological and ecological significance for marine conservation efforts because sea urchins play a vital role in marine ecosystems. Our project is going to focus on three basic types of sea urchins: five-part radial symmetry sea urchins, heart urchins, and sand dollars. By choosing a representative one from each of these three types, this project would unfold their physical characteristics, and their role in the ecosystem. This raises awareness of their importance and boosts conservation efforts. Also, featuring sea urchins in augmented reality has the potential to spark curiosity and interest in marine biology and conservation and foster lifelong learning.
